The structure at聽101 E. Cotton St., which caught fire in January 2020, once was home to聽the Pig Trail Inn bar, TA&T Finance, F&S Finance, Clayton Credit, Guys & Gals Salon and Desert Tanning Co.

For the past two years, the likenesses of Matthew McConaughey as well as animated characters Yosemite Sam and Lilo and Stitch had a home along the exterior walls of a burned-out downtown Longview building. But no more. On Wednesday, the scorched structure at 101 E. Cotton St. that once housed a bar and became an informal art display came crashing down under the claw of an excavator, paving the way for future development.
