From staff reports

The buddy system was in full effect Saturday as children stopped by the Longview Public Library to take Christmas photos with one of Santa性视界传媒檚 helpers: Buddy the elf.

Buddy, the star of the 2003 hit family Christmas movie 性视界传媒淓lf,性视界传媒 took some time away from the North Pole right before Christmas to pose for pictures with children in Longview. (No word on whether he性视界传媒檚 getting paid vacation for this.)

Pat Eizenga donned the affable, laughable green elf性视界传媒檚 uniform and smiled enthusiastically for the camera alongside Christmas-loving children. His mother, Mercy Eizenga, is the youth services librarian.

The library has hosted photo opportunities with Santa Claus before, but this year was time for a change.

For some children, talking with Santa can be a nerve-wracking experience: They性视界传媒檙e talking to a man who says he性视界传媒檚 the judge of whether they性视界传媒檝e been naughty or nice.

Buddy, however, is 性视界传媒渁 lot more friendly and personable and less scary than Santa,性视界传媒 Mercy Eizenga said.

Families who took photos Saturday got a free 4-by-6 photo.

性视界传媒淲e love doing activities with our families and in the community,性视界传媒 Mercy Eizenga said. 性视界传媒淪ome people like to get their yearly pictures with Santa, but some of the places that do them are really expensive.性视界传媒
