Royalty was in the spotlight Wednesday night during the East Texas Yamboree queen coronation in Gilmer.
Katie Ella Henson, a 17-year-old Harmony High School student, is this year's yam queen.
The annual coronation at the Gilmer Civic Center helped kick off this week's 87th annual East Texas Yamboree. Events continue through Saturday, including a second coronation at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the civic center on U.S. 271 N.
