Documents obtained from Longview ISD do not provide a clear reason for the mid-year resignation of an elementary campus principal. Those documents, however, point to problems in a life skills, or special education class, at Bramlette STEAM Academy.

Nikita Mumphrey, former principal at the campus, submitted her resignation Feb. 20 in a letter that does not appear to tell the whole story about why she left.

Her contract was good through June 30, but she and the district entered into an 性视界传媒渆arly resignation and release性视界传媒 agreement because a 性视界传媒渄ispute exists性视界传媒 regarding her employment with the district, according to documents the News-Journal received through a request for public information.

性视界传媒(The district and Mumphrey) admit to no fault, yet desire to amicably resolve all claims, disputes and matters of controversy between them and believe such resolution to be in their individual and collective best interests,性视界传媒 according to the documents.

The documents go on to say she would voluntarily resign 性视界传媒 her resignation letter is attached to the agreement 性视界传媒 and says she would be paid the remainder of her contract, which was $43,179. The district also pledged to give her a 性视界传媒渘eutral reference性视界传媒 and say she is eligible to be rehired.

Her resignation letter states, 性视界传媒渢his difficult resignation arises from personal family circumstances.性视界传媒

Other documents hint at possible issues at the campus, including concerns raised by people working with special needs children.

One of those staff members, who identified herself as a special education teacher in her Aug. 10 resignation letter to Mumphrey, said she was quitting because of concerns about 性视界传媒渢eacher practices and special education practices.性视界传媒

A second letter that teacher sent to the district性视界传媒檚 human resources department said she was resigning 性视界传媒渄ue to inappropriateness in speech from teachers to students, communication, and in how ARD meetings are conducted.性视界传媒

ARD, which means admission, review and dismissal, is a meeting to determine whether or not a student is eligible for special education.

The teacher性视界传媒檚 resignation letter was dated two days after the 2023-24 school year began.

Another Bramlette staff member, who identified herself as an instructional assistant in a life skills, or special education, class, submitted her resignation Aug. 30.

性视界传媒淎fter careful consideration, being a part of life skills without the proper and requested training, not only am I putting myself in a bad situation but also the children,性视界传媒 she wrote. 性视界传媒淭here is major attention that needs to be placed in the class for the safety of all.性视界传媒

Then, another life skills teacher submitted her resignation Oct. 10 in a letter that provided no explanation as to why.

Mumphrey had been principal at Bramlette for eight years and was an LISD administrator and teacher for six years.

Attempts to reach Mumphrey through phone and social media were unsuccessful. The district did not respond to a request for comment.
