EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. - Student Joey Carty said he found out from his roommate about gunshots allegedly fired on East Stroudsburg University's campus on Sunday.
"He said he got it by email, I checked my phone. I got the same email the school had reported there were shots fired," said Carty.
It happened in the area of Zimbar Gym in the early morning hours, according to the email.
"I thought that this was crazy because it makes you wonder how safe we really are," said Carty.
The email said several persons of interest have been detained and this is still an ongoing investigation.
People with information on shots allegedly fired are being asked to contact East Stroudsburg University Police.
"Overall, I wouldn't worry too much about it because I trust the police department here, but it's still kind of a concerning thought," said Carty.
There is no word on if there were any injuries or on what may have led up to gunshots allegedly being fired.
