A now-former Gregg County Jailer was arrested after being accused of using an inmate性视界传媒檚 credit card to purchase a breast pump.

Shalisha Denai Mungia was arrested Friday on a charge of credit card or debit card abuse following an investigation into 性视界传媒減ossible illegal activity being committed by a sheriff性视界传媒檚 office jail employee while on-duty,性视界传媒 Gregg County Sheriff性视界传媒檚 Office Chief Deputy Craig Harrington said in a statement.

On Oct. 23, 2024, Mungia used inmate Liquieta Lawanza Deesjuan Kelly性视界传媒檚 Chime Credit Builder Card to purchase a breast pump for $231.88 on Amazon, sheriff性视界传媒檚 office Lt. Tyler Myers wrote in an arrest affidavit.

Myers began investigating the matter Jan. 27 after the sheriff性视界传媒檚 office received a complaint about Mungia from Kelly, Myers wrote. Myers interviewed Kelly, who has been incarcerated since November 2023 on multiple charges.

Kelly told Myers that she had allowed Mungia to use her Chime card to buy food several times while Mungia was on duty, and Kelly 性视界传媒渃laimed to receive a benefit from such transactions,性视界传媒 Myers wrote.

Mungia asked Kelly for permission to use her Chime card to purchase a breast pump because she was pregnant and about to give birth, Myers wrote in the affidavit. However, Kelly declined the request, she told the investigator.

Kelly later tried to use her Chime card to fund her inmate phone account, but she was unable to because her card had low funds, Myers wrote.

On Feb. 14, Myers obtained records from Amazon showing that Mungia added Kelly性视界传媒檚 Chime card to her Amazon account Oct. 23, 2024, and named 性视界传媒淟aquita Kelly性视界传媒 [sic] as the cardholder. Records from Chime showed that Kelly性视界传媒檚 card was used for an Amazon purchase that day totaling $231.88.

Mungia had been a jailer since July 2021 but was terminated Friday because of her arrest and other policy violations, Harrington said. She was booked into jail that day and released on $1,500 bond.
