The change means anyone listening to a scanner won性视界传媒檛 be able to hear Longview police communication.

In a statement, the department said the change was made to protect private information shared during emergency responses and criminal investigations.

性视界传媒淢any calls for service involve sensitive personal data, including medical information, addresses and witness identities. Encryption ensures that this information remains protected and out of the public domain,性视界传媒 the department said.

性视界传媒淎dditionally, encrypting radio transmissions will significantly improve officer safety, especially during rapidly developing situations. In critical incidents such as armed subjects, active shooter responses or suspect pursuits, open radio channels can be exploited by this information being immediately available over the radio. By securing these communications, officers can operate with greater confidence and effectiveness, reducing the risk to themselves and public.性视界传媒

Additionally, the department said encrypting communications addresses concerns about people using radio traffic to track law enforcement movement and avoid apprehension.

性视界传媒淧ublic access to unencrypted transmissions may allow offenders to flee crime scenes, destroy evidence or ambush officers. The new system will help close this loophole and prevent criminals from gaining an advantage over law enforcement,性视界传媒 the department said.

性视界传媒淲hile public access to police operations is important, the department remains committed to transparency and will continue to provide timely updates through official channels, including social media, press releases and public information officers. The community can stay informed about major incidents without compromising security or personal privacy.性视界传媒
