A woman was hit and killed by a vehicle Thursday morning after failing to yield the right of way while walking on North Eastman Road in Longview, police said.
Officers responded about 8 a.m. to the 2000 block of North Eastman Road in reference to a crash involving a vehicle and pedestrian, police said in a statement posted to Facebook.
"During the investigation, officers determined a pickup truck traveling southbound struck a pedestrian, an adult female, attempting to cross Eastman Road," police said. "It appears the pedestrian failed to yield the right of way to the vehicle. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation is ongoing at this time."
Police did not identify the victim or provide more details about the vehicle or driver.
