Gregg County elected officials had a tip-top party of their own Thursday as they celebrated a milestone in the construction of the county性视界传媒檚 four-story parking facility in downtown Longview: The last of the concrete has been poured for the structure性视界传媒檚 fourth floor. Officials hosted a 性视界传媒淭opping Out Celebration性视界传媒 to mark the progress.

With the fourth floor built, the main structure of the building, its 性视界传媒渟keleton,性视界传媒 is complete, said Gregg County Judge Bill Stoudt. Now, the facility is ready for its 性视界传媒渟kin性视界传媒 性视界传媒 offices and exterior components 性视界传媒 to be applied.

性视界传媒淓verything right now is going according to plan,性视界传媒 Stoudt said. 性视界传媒淲e性视界传媒檙e staying in budget, and it性视界传媒檚 getting ready to take some real shape, and I think the public will be pleased with it.性视界传媒

Construction of the $24.7 million facility should be completed in September, providing 293 new parking spaces in downtown and additional office space for county operations.

Gregg County voters approved bond funding for the facility性视界传媒檚 construction in November 2023. Texas-based SpawGlass is the contractor for the project. No opening date has been set.

Methvin Street, which is between the parking facility and the Gregg County Courthouse, has been closed during construction. As construction progresses, the northbound lane of Center Street between Methvin and Bank Alley could be closed intermittently through the end of May, city officials said.
