resources in and near the creek. Some oil field operations may be
affected.

- At 7:45 AM CDT Saturday the stage was 5.0 feet.
- Bankfull stage is 10.0 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
late this afternoon to a crest of 10.9 feet just after
midnight tonight. It will then fall below flood stage Sunday
afternoon.
- Flood stage is 10.0 feet.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Sabine River at Longview.

* WHEN...From late Monday night until further notice.

* IMPACTS...At 28.0 feet, Lowland flooding will continue for several
days. Oil field operations will be curtailed and timber resources
will suffer severe flooding. Fisherman should use caution as
currents are swift.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 8:00 AM CDT Saturday the stage was 9.8 feet.
- Bankfull stage is 25.0 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
early Tuesday morning and continue rising to 28.6 feet
Thursday morning. Additional rises are possible thereafter.
- Flood stage is 25.0 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
28.8 feet on 01/31/1995.

- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
this evening and continue rising to a crest of 33.7 feet
Monday evening.
- Flood stage is 26.0 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
33.7 feet on 03/04/1949.
