Loose dog problems
I have recently written to both my precinct commissioner, the county judge and the state of Texas regarding loose/stray and or dumped dogs in Gregg County.
This is a county wide issue that is causing great concern for rescues as well as voters that live in Gregg County. Our cities have a leash law and/or an animal control officer while the county does not. The judge sent me to the Department of Health in Gregg County, but this should not be an issue for them. They are at the forefront if there is suspected rabies, or if there are a large number of abandoned dogs or to hoarders that would pose a threat to health.
I am being met with very little concern or response regarding this issue. I did pose what would happen if the dogs that were dumped formed a pack and harmed someone. I stated that this might have to happen before the county tried to get animal control.
I have been pawned off on calling the sheriff性视界传媒檚 office but also stated that this should not be an issue for them, that they had matters of protecting, not dog catching. Food for thought.
